Apologies for the lateness of my first post. This term has been very hectic and I am really looking forward to the holidays. Being a new teacher, careers adviser and SRC co ordintator has been a bit over whelming. However, some of the teachers in my school have been very interested in the photo essays and wikis which is fantastic.
I currently have my year 9 history class doing photo essays on ww2 and they are due next week so I cant wait to see them. The students have really enjoyed doing this task and were all really excited about it when we first discussed it. I have a smart board in my class room so was able to demonstrate photo story and get them all involved in that process as well.
Next term I have to teach Geography and I will be introducing a photo essay assignment to my year 8 class, maybe on human rights. I am also going to use the holidays to get a wiki up and running for year 7/9. I am undecided at this stage as to what sort of lessons to incorprate on the wiki.
I look forward to meeting up with everyone again next month, and hopefully my wikis will be successful.
